Moving server and keeping watched status of all media

Hello, I am going to try to move my emby server to a different PC.  Instead of using backup and restore to retain everything, I think I just want to start fresh because my music library is screwed up, and I know I'll have to recreate my libraries, and redo SSL anyway.  The one thing I really would like to keep is the watched status of all of my media.  I plan on adding the exact same users to the new server configuration, and I was wondering if there was a way to backup and restore this from the old to the new machine.

Uses the Server Configuration Backup plugin and only restore Users and Userdata.  Otherwise you will have to copy your existing databases to maintain the userdata.

I suggest Trakt. It works fine for me and you just have to import watched status for each use and, if they have different watched states, you can create a seperate free Trakt account for each user.

There seems to be a lot of holes in the Trakt sync. I'm missing a lot of watched data with Trakt. Is there anyway to restore watched state from Simkl cvs file?

Thanks Luke. I had some issues earlier this week. One of the kids pc got a cold and that little bug seem to spread to my server as well. My emby backup got corrupted as well. After I cleaned everything out and reinstalled I was trying to use trakt to put my watch list back, but as I stated, trakt doesn't seem to do as good a job as it should with keeping up with stuff. It's no biggie. We'll just have to manually update what's missing as it comes up, if we're still watching it.

Peace & Love Luke

If you still have the backup files available I can likely help you out to restore your watched data.

Send me a PM when you have some time available and I can remote in with TeamViewer and take a look for you.

Thank you Cayars for your assistance today. Thank you for remoting into my pc and fixing my database issue, restoring my playstates, and tweaking everything.

Awesome support from team Emby!

Hi. You can do that with our configuration backup plug-in.

This won't erase the history of th other users on that server? you can do the back-up for 1 single user?

This is also my question. I have been using Trakt BUT it has become less reliable and i really want to move to another solution but what i need is a bit different. Rather that cluttering up this thread with my questions and other drivel so: Is there some place with detailed instructions about how to use that plugin. I will try to find the answers i need in the plugin forum but, as i age, it has become more difficult for me to do extended research.
Thanks.

Hi.  You can select which user(s) to restore or not.  Give it a try and it should be fairly self explanatory
