I'm on vacation and I was trying to watch something on my fire stick using the emby app and it wasn't logging me in, so I had to go to the site for pin entry where I was told my credentials were not valid. So I reset my password and now I have no server available to connect to for some reason. I've also been logged out of the emby app on my phone now and it won't take the password I just used and won't allow me to reset unless I'm on my home network. Any help here?

Where did you change your password?  Did you do this on your Emby server or was this an Emby Connect password change?

So that will be the same username/password you use here in the forums so we know that's working correctly.

On your phone is it telling you to open a text file on the server?

Do you know your WAN IP where the Emby server is?

No, on my phone is says invalid username or password. When I try to reset, it says I have to be on the same network as the server.

Take connect out of the equation.  Can you connect directly to your server with manual address?

I don't think I have the ip address for it to try to connect. Is there a way for me to find that while outside my network?

Maybe you might be able to get it from your ISP if they have a portal.

Okay so I went into the app on my phone again this morning and it signed me in without asking for credentials. I'll have to see if I can get the fire stick app working now too.

While you're in take a look at your dashboard and write down it's remote connection URL.  You can always try that on the firestick as well to connect directly!

Got the fire stick app working by entering the ip manually - thanks for the tip. Not sure why it didn't show up when I signed in to connect though?

The link may have been severed.  This will happen if anyone ever deletes or "forgets" a server on the server sign in screen.  Try removing the email and then re-adding it in the Connect field for the user.

So this means you're confusing the two systems - our website and your local server. When you changed your password on the forum, that was your Emby Connect password. The local server password reset requires you to be on the same network as your server.
