Download Location

I was trying to download a video clip from the server using the Emby Theater Windows app. If kept failing. Just wondering where it would go because if it tried in the wrong place my security wouldn't let it.  I did get the download via the browser.

Hi, it would be in the app's internal data folder, although you can customize the download location from within app settings.

Hi, have you tried clicking your user icon in the top right to get to the app download settings?

I've been through all the App Settings I can find.  I cannot locate where you change the download location for Emby on Windows.

Just to add to this, I am using the "Download to ..." option as there is no plain "Download" option available.  It says it has downloaded it, but I booted up Procmon.exe that is part of Windows Sys Internals.  There is a bit of write activity to  c:\users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron\Cache\data_0 and c:\users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron\Cache\data_0 but these files are just several KB.

That movie file never gets written anywhere on my hard drive.

hi, this version doesn't have that feature, but stay tuned for our new windows app that is about to launch.

Quick question - on the windows Emby Theatre version 2.201.1.0 and downloads. I remember setting up a download folder location before, but do not see where to set that on my PC in Emby Theatre now, or when managing Emby Server with the web app. My friend and I discuss and try different renderings etc., so exchange files pretty often. the download procedure was pretty useful, but now cannot find where the files were downloaded to on my machine from his...

I apparently am missing something. I set up new drives periodically, and have done this in the past, but I see the download feature is mentioned in your description in the announcement above. Do not find a way to set the Download Location. I saw ethernet traffic during the download process, but could not find the file when finished downloading.

This feature has been developed from scratch in the new app. In order to keep the surface of potential issues small, the download folder selection has been held back, but it's already prepared for and will be added in a future update.

Currently the downloads go into the Data folder which you can see under Settings >> About
