Emby not seeing some TV episodes in folder

I'm really getting frustrated.  I ripped these discs myself so I'm sure of the episode number and name and although the folders with these two episodes are in the same folder as the other 38 episodes Emby refuses to add them to the server.  It simply skips episode 26 and 27.  The nfo files are there and if I delete them Emby makes them again yet nothing still shows up and I am at the point where I don't know what to do.  I have removed the folders and nfo files, rescanned the library, added them back, rescanned the library again.....multiple times and nothing.

Any help would be appreciated....Thanks

Hi,

What is the TV series you are ripping?

Ultraman, 1966....yeah, I'm old

I used to watch that growing up as well.

Have you looked at the log after doing a library scan?

Does this mean you are placing each episode into a separate folder?  While that's the correct thing to do with movies, I'm not sure whether it's good practice for series episodes.

Can you go over folder structure and file naming, but it almost sounds like the episodes may have been multi-versioned.

My folder structure is as follows:

TV Shows\Ultraman\Season 1\Individual folders for each episode (so I can organize the subs and artwork etc.)

This folder structure works fine for all of my TV shows and Ultraman except the two episodes in question

While I appreciate that information I have lots of subtitle files and such that would result in a mess in a single folder......and all my other TV Shows are fine using the folder structure I use....even Ultraman, it's only two episodes so I doubt my folder structure is the underlying issue here.

Just keep in mind using that format doesn't guarantee it will work in the future.

Any special characters in the folder or file names?

Actually Luke added that additional episode folder layer not long ago.  But don't know if it should make it into support documents though.

Can you show a complete example to include file name.

Have you verified Emby is not multi-versioning those episode into one of the other episodes?

Oh, OK, didn't realize that.  Ignore my comment then. :)

I think we have a winner Cayars.....there is a hyphen in the name and it's a single episode split into two

I wouldn't expect a hyphen to cause a problem without there being some other issue, though.

The foldername and filename is as follows:

26. Monster Majesty-Part 1 (Jamuary 8, 1967)

I am guessing the -part 1 is the issue as that is used for file stacking but would have to test.

Also the number naming scheme could be a issue also, but has more tolerance in the season folder but have not tested with the additional episode layer.

Instead of part 1 I would use the same naming as tvdb "Monster Majesty (1)"

That had no affect at all, those two episodes are still not showing up in Emby

Exactly as I suspected and I bet if you look at episode 1 and 2 you will see a multi-version drop down.  I am guessing to a issue parsing this naming scheme.

But renaming both episodes folder and file worked for me.

\TV Shows - DB\Ultraman\Season 1\26. Monster Majesty (1) (Jamuary 8, 1967)\26. Monster Majesty (1) (Jamuary 8, 1967).ext

\TV Shows - DB\Ultraman\Season 1\27. Monster Majesty (2) (Jamuary 15, 1967)\27. Monster Majesty (2) (Jamuary 15, 1967).ext

I don't see a multi-version pull down of episode 1 and 2 and I renamed the files like you said to and still nothing

Since mine appeared a episode 1 and 2 I guessed yours would also.

Looks like I will have to build every episode and see but with only 25-27 you see what I got using the information provided.  This is why we need to know exact folder structure and naming.  But I am guessing if you used SxxEyy naming you shouldn't have a issue but will test your naming with 38 episodes in season 1.

First I just noticed another issue as I see I have the wrong external ids.  What external ids do you have for this series?

External Ids?

Yes click edit metadata on the Series and scroll to External ids.

How is Episode 1 and 2 named?  Currently can only get 1 and 26 multi-version grouped and 2 and 27 multi-version grouped.  Using the -part naming.  renaming folder and episode displays properly.

External IDs are IMDB, TheMovieDB, and TVDB
