Carlo 4561 Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Hi, Can you give us real life example? Maybe a screen pic of the folder?
asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 (edited) hi and thanks, Edited August 26, 2020 by asdffdsa1
asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 i see that for the video, there is a drop box labeled 'subtitles' and default is off. if i click the dropbox and select the srt file, play the video, still no with vlc. if i refresh the emby web interface, the dropbox is off, does not seem to remember i selected the srt thanks,
Carlo 4561 Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Could you humor me and try something? Change folder name to "Borat (2006)" Change both the movie and subtitle first part to ""Borat (2006)" as well. Open the srt file in notepad and make sure it has timing and text in it (ie looks semi valid). What happens now after doing library scan?
asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 if i play the video using the web player, then the subtitles work.

asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 thanks much but no, if was not working all along, still not working i remaned the files as you suggested and rescan the library. the dropbox for subtitles was still set to off. if i manually select the srt, and then reply the video, still no subtitles. and if i refresh the web page, the subtitle drop down is off. i repeat, each time i refresh the webpage, the subtitle drop down is set to 'off' in vlc, if i click for subtitles, i get "download subtitles from opentitles.org" thanks and here is a snippet from the .srt 1 00:00:05,000 --> 00:00:15,000 Created and Encoded by -- Bokutox -- of www.YIFY-TORRENTS.com. asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 does it matter the vlc is using the dlna function?

Now if you select the subtitle and actually play the video do you get the subtitles? 7 minutes ago, asdffdsa1 said: does it matter the vlc is using the dlna function? VLC likely won't be smart enough to pull the srt via DLNA.
asdffdsa1 1 Posted August 26, 2020 Author Posted August 26, 2020 ok. thanks, the nice thing about vlc on ios, is built-in support for plex. any chance emby will do that? then i would switch from plex to emby, instead of just testing emby.
