Movie naming convention

Hi all,

I have followed the movie naming convention.  Typically, I have a 1080p, a 4k and a 3d version of my favorite movies.  I name them according to convention, that is, movie-1080p.mp4, movie-2160p.mp4 and movie-3d.hsbs.mp4.  The 1080p version as well as the 4k version do show up properly, but the 3d version always comes up showing only as a 1080p version.  Am I doing something incorrectly?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!!

Hi, why do you feel the 3d version only shows up as 1080p? Can you please go over an example? Thanks !

Hi Luke,

Here is how the 3 versions of this particular movie appear for me on my little server, as an example. Just FYI, my little setup is private, and for my own household usage ONLY.  The first picture is how they appear in "Collections"  The second picture is how the 1080p version (the first icon in Collections) appears.  The third picture is how the 4k version (the second icon in Collections)  appears.  And lastly, the fourth picture is how the 3d version (the third icon in collections) appears.

Every 3d movie I have on my server displays as though it was just a regular 1080p movie.  I have read the support documents over and over again to see if I am naming the 3d version incorrectly, but as in the example I have shown here, my filenames are as follows:

The 1080p version is named: "Captain America - Civil War-1080p.mp4"

The 4k version is named: "Captain America - Civil War-2160p.mkv"

And the 3d version is named: "Captain America - Civil War-3d.hsbs.mp4"

The 4k version appears as a 4k version, so there is no confusion there. However, when I want to watch either the 1080p version or the 3d version, it's always a gamble as to which one will play, as they are both identified as being just 1080p.  I am likely doing something wrong, and I appreciate the fact that you are willing to help whichever way you can.

Thank you in advance for any help you (or any other member) can provide.

Try this;

Rename the 3 movies (on your hard-drive) to -
"Captain America - Civil War - 3d.hsbs.mp4"
"Captain America - Civil War - 1080p.mp4"
"Captain America - Civil War - 2160p.mp4"
Notice the space between the " - "!
Also, Be sure the folder they are in is named "Captain America - Civil War".
After renaming them, delete the NFO's for the 3 movies and then run a Library Scan.

This works for me.

It says it's a 3D movie.  Look at the 2nd line of text right between Civil and War from the first line.

Now if you used the cover art plugin you could have each poster clearly identified as well.

But personally I'd stack these  and use them as a multi-version movie as they are all the same movie, just in different formats.
