how the Latest Media section operates on the Home Screen

Hello!

I am relatively new to Emby, cut over in January so been using it 8 months.

I'm just trying to work out how the Latest Media section operates on the Dashboard.

I've installed the Anime plugin and have it pointed to my Anime folder, I actually don't have much Anime so it just always shows it per episode. I would rather group this by TV Series like the way TV sections do. I presume this is related to the Anime plugin or is this how Mixed Content folders show?

As I don't have much Anime I just turned this section off.

My real question is I have created a Library of "TV" Content made up of Daily style shows as these just rotate so frequently. It would be awesome if I could set it to appear how the Anime appears where it just shows the latest episodes in the Latest Media section, but I can't seem to configure it in such a way to produce this? If I re-added the Daily Library as a Mixed Content library would this produce that?

I guess I would just like to understand how the Latest Media section works. I could always add the "Daily" library as Anime if its related to the Anime plugin.

Hi, using the tv content type it will group the latest by series.

I would expect that we will make this configurable in future updates. Thanks.

Thanks for responding so quickly. So I presume Mixed Content shows it per episodes.

Do you think there would be a way to make Mixed Content show by series or movie? I guess technically that could be challenging, but as long as the structure was right it could work.

Also, just to say: this is not caused by the Anime plugin, which merely adds some additional metadata providers (for series only, not films). 

My experience (I have a lot of anime, some pretty obscure) is that TVDB identifies it all just fine without the Anime plugin being used.  The additional providers from the Anime plugin may increase some of the details of staff, though, which I don't feel the need for.

There's currently no way to make mixed content group by series, but I will also expect this to be configurable in future updates.
