I have and many others have been having issues with emby connect with pin. we go through the process and pin is confirmed and nothing happens on the device being connected. After about 30 tries it finally connects.

hardtime 1 Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 (edited) Yes 100% installed.Others I share with are fine with no issues it's new devices connecting through emby connect with pin. It will say pin verified, device your trying to connect will just sit on the instruction screen instead of taking you to the emby screen with server selection. It does work after about 30 tries or so. And even if the server was not available the connect would still work just would not show the server as I have lots of servers on mine this is not the issue. It's the web based host site(https://emby.media/pin.html) not talking to the device after pin is confirmed. Edited August 24, 2020 by hardtime

Hi, How are we supposed to help you when you have a total of 3 posts and haven't given us the information to even understand your setup yet? Different apps may handle this slightly differently so when one of the main developers asks a question to determine the device, the app and the version it's so they can then give you instructions how to send logs so we can take a look at see what's going on. I might have 3 post lmao but I seam to know more about this any one of you do or I'm getting a walk around. Nothing asked has anything to do with emby connect WITH PIN! These questions are just wasting peoples time! I have post the issue clearly Its the host https://emby.media/pin.html not talking to the device (emby app) once the pin is confirmed. I can not make it any clearer. My setup has nothing to do with emby connect with pin! I was being nice and walking away from this but I feel compiled to write as many of the people I admin for are having issues with this and get the same answers all the time. Talk to your server provider. ( whom I work with ) I will not ever give out port or location so pin all these people have. devices having issue: shields ( non server app) firesticks all of them, formulers. those are ones I know of right now. Thee next button takes you to the port connect in every single app emby has. I could send you about 24 or 25 people here having this issue if you would like? I'm not about to gather all their info. I'm sorry if this is harsh post but you have to be in our shoes for a day. We get asked why isn't this working. we tell people you have to go through emby as we have no control over this. They all come back and ask for ports. This is never going to happen! As you know people connect with emails when they add devices they use connect with pin when this does not work we get hammered with this in groups. It gets really frustrating and hard for us to understand why it is always put on the one providing the server? Exactly how many Emby systems are you admin of? Not all the devices you mention use PIN codes nor have to. This is a feature of Emby Connect and most of the time when people have an issue with this it's due to blocking which could be software on the computer, browser plugins or filtering at the router. It could possibly also be caused by the server being over it's device limit. The logs on the device will tell if it's communicating correctly with the Emby Connect servers or having issues. Let's start over so we can help you properly. Please supply the information here:

We are not going to keep sending new emails when they have an account and just need to add a new device. I tested this my self on my shield and had the same issue so this is not an issue with this it's due to blocking which could be software on the computer, browser plugins or filtering at the route. But this is all OPTIONAL and only needed if you want to use Emby Connect. But if so you must set things up properly. You still have to add the Emby account to the server they are connecting to. correct as we do but when they add a device they need connect with pin! and if I must I will tell you we limit connections on our end so this is no issue. Carlo 4561 Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Well one option is setup them up direct and bypass the optional Emby Connect & PIN setup. This is the most professional implementation as you can have you Emby server sitting on it's own domain with SSL. But it's a choice. Without doing that you need to set each user up with an Emby Account username, add this account to your Emby server, have the user activate the account. Have the user activate the PIN code which to me is a lot more overall work from an admin side once setup. With Emby connect you'll likely to be running without SSL as well (but can be done). It's your choice. We will help you either way but just ask you supply the info requested in the link which will have the info we need to diagnose your problem.

Been doing it this way for a good number of years and before emby we used the competition. The issue at hand is with emby connect with pin plain and simple. It is NOT working properly.

You are positive they are pressing "Next" and not "Skip"... The "Skip" button should take you to the manual connection screen. You said sometimes it works and others it doesn't?

A change in how the themeing displays on the Fire TV/Android makes it not 100% clear which button is selected because it is using a negative selection. We will improve this but I'm pretty sure what is happening is these people are actually pressing the "Skip" button when they think they are pressing "Next". There should be three buttons on the screen. The one that looks different is the one that is selected/in focus.

Pittro 7 Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) My sister emby connect does it too I'm trying to connect my sister to a active server but I don't click next for her she clicks IP address and port number after that it goes back to the home screen using Nvidia Shield..also the pin says confirmed before doing anything ..also she doesn't get an email.. ebr 16184 Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 There is no email sent when the PIN is confirmed. I'm sure she is pressing the cancel button but just doesn't realize it. There are three buttons on the screen. The one that looks different from the other two is the one you are pressing.
