Recording timing parameters

Was hoping the live TV recording parameters could be adjusted so that could be done in 10 second intervals up to a minute for recording starting and stopping something like 10 ,20 ,30 ,40 ,50, 1 minute 2 minutes ,3 minutes , 4 minutes, 5 minutes as some stations have a 1 minute lead in and lag time and others do it in 10 second intervals this would allow a recording to be tailored per show/movie etc to eliminate more of the commercials etc without losing the lead in to the shows and the final credits.
