rbjtech 5284 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 re the 'default' - this is usually the first audio track listed that emby will attempt to play. There are two ways to change this - a) modify the default to another track - either when you create them - or you can modify it afterwards with mkvtoolnix. Alternatively, emby will remember the track you played and go back to that track when you next play it- effectively making it the new default (for that user). 1
Dragon777 2 Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) Thanks for the hint on changing the default audio channel. That worked! Edited August 22, 2020 by Dragon777 1
Dragon777 2 Posted August 23, 2020 Author Posted August 23, 2020 I am currently converting my concerts to MKV and naming all the chapters. But when a concert consists of two parts, I have named the files with "Pt 1" and "Pt 2" in the filenames. Emby recognises this and shows the Part 2 under "additional parts". But how can I access the chapters of part 2. Once I click it, Emby will immediately play it instead of opening it like a new movie with it´s own chapters. Am I overlooking something? What´s the best way to deal with two part concerts?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 You would be better off combining the the two files to make one concert.
Dragon777 2 Posted August 23, 2020 Author Posted August 23, 2020 Ok... do you know any good tools to do so without altering/reencoding the files? Like just sticking them together?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 You can Concatenate the files pretty easily using ffmpeg.
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 MKVToolnix GUI will append files easily (even if the sources aren't MKV). Add first file to GUI; right-click on first file and select "append" to choose the second (and more) file. Paul 1

Paul I have used mkvtoolnix to combine 2 parts, Lord of the Rings extended blurays were all 2 parts. After I named all the chapters in each successfully I did exactly as above and never can tell when watching them that they were ever apart. It's quite easy to use. It's the one most used program for my media besides makemkv and emby, 1
Dragon777 2 Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 Thanks, MKVToolnix works like a charm! For some reason I have to re-set display width on some files when putting them in MKVToolnix or the multiplexed fill will have a wrong ratio (but the source files were ok). But manual adjustment seems to work. So I guess I will do this with LotR as well. But after my concerts, I have no patience left to add chapter names to LotR now.

Well LotR isn't as niche as your concerts, you can find chapter files online, you'll have to search but find it you will if you look for it.
