Breaking changes to video preview thumbnail creation?

@Luke Was there recently a change to the video preview thumbnail creation settings?

I'm pretty sure I had it set to 30sec (iirc) for both Movies and Shows. I just realized that my Movies library settings is now set to "Chapter Markers" and no longer generates timed thumbs. Also, the 30sec option seems to have disappeared, and only 10sec option remains.

For Shows, that setting is just blank and no previews are being generated for new episodes.

 

To confirm, I browsed to some older episodes and they do have video preview thumbs at what seems to be every 30 seconds.

Was there a breaking change about this? And what is the best way for us to be notified of such breaking changes? (I just happened to notice the lack of preview thumbs in Shows).

 

Also, now I have some media with 30sec bif files, some media with just chapter markers and some media with no previews. How do I fix it so they're consistent? I guess 10sec is the only timed option now. Can I just change that setting and run the thumbnail extraction job? Would that update them all?

Pretty sure this change happen back in February.

You would have to delete all existing bif files to recreate at new interval.  Then just run the task.  But verify setting in every library first.
