Merging Artists?

This is an issue I've had for years and has bothered me for a long time... For some reason the devs are opposed to create a merge functionality for this small, but persistent and irritating thing... Maybe I'm not seeing the complete picture or impact, but it can't be that hard to implement, can it?

Hello, I have the same problem, and i have to insert more than 30k MP3 files ... I can't imagine if i need to modify all ID3 tags on all files.

So, the developpers can add a merge fonction as when we have 2 identic file ?

The Emby software is very amazing, but this problem is very sad

Can you help the Emby community ?

Hi, it's possible for the future but in the meantime something like Picard can help you quickly clean up your embedded audio information.

Audio files will only be as good as the information contained in them.

Spend the time using a good tool that will fetch and update the tracks/albums correctly and you will have an amazing Emby audio Library.

I always need the doublon function for audio files but with this tool, i think it will be more easier

An other suggestion if you want : it would be fine to add a new category to permit the adding of webradio by m3u files (shoutcast for example). I have some personnal webradio that i'm listening in my car with VLC, it would be fun to listen it with Emby. I think you have a lot of others functionnality to integrate, but if you have 5 minutes a day... (i'm telling this all days to my developpers team, i can imagine you reaction )

I had that same thought yesterday when looking at a few radio streams.  These have normally been done as plugins in the past (ie tunein).
If done right could probably be RSS feeds as well. I'd need to test but think the IPTV plugin could be used as well (unless it requires video to be present).

Radio and Podcasts are very similar so that's another possibility.
