Familia Chapin 12 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 HI there, I just upgraded to emby premiere because we believe in what y'all do! I have a large collection of anime and as we know, they are not all the same. Is there a way to remove or omit certain titles or folders from the "More like this" section? My wife and daughter will often watch anime with me and I would prefer for my daughter to not see some of the more violent or suggestive posters. Unfortunately because it is on the TV and we are all together, i can't really fix the issue with a different profile (as i do for my sister-in-law and niece). Any suggestions or anything in the pipeline? Maybe like an "omit from consideration" option? Thank for all that y'all do!
Luke 42085 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Hi, why not have a special user profile designated for the TV?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Hi, I'd suggest what Luke mentioned. When I had younger children we each had our own account (wife, 2 kids, myself). The kids had parental restrictions like "G" and under when they were younger, then "PG" etc as they got older. I also created a Family account and would set the parental rating typically one notch above what the kids would have on their own. This made sure the kids didn't get the horror posters or anything to over the top but allowed the wife and I to use our own judgement for what to play in the living room and could use a bit of discretion in what we choose to play that they may not have been able to get under their own account. I liked it this way as we had one account to track family watched movies as well.
Familia Chapin 12 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 That makes sense. I will give that a try and let you know how it turns out!

We're always looking for feedback on this type of thing as it helps others with similar situations! Everyone does things a bit different with their own twist on what works for them. Carlo
Familia Chapin 12 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 One follow-up question. Is there a way i can copy all of the progress data to the new profile? So like watched status and resume status? I know i can just rename the current profile and all that and make the new profile mine from scratch, but this would also be helpful Not a deal breaker but my mom taught me to always ask.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 The Server Configuration Backup plugin has the ability to map userdata to other users in its Restore process.

If you are a premier member I can show you a quick easy way to copy this data over. If not a premier member you could try installing Trakt, exporting your watched status, then changing the configuration and importing back to a different user. Edit: Happy2Play is quick on the keyboard today. LOL Edited August 17, 2020 by cayars
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Maybe another plugin coming soon that would do it also. 1
Familia Chapin 12 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Perfect! I actually just became premiere last night so good timing lol. And I realized i was going to have a similar problem because man tv shows we watch are TV MA (Doom Patrol, Titans) but don't have graphic posters. Those would get swept up in the Parental Guidance of TV MA for the anime...but then I realized i could give the folder(s) that i want excluded from the new profile an obscure tag (ex "No use233") and then have that profile block all with that made up tag. That way i can just use that tag for anything i want hidden. I am 100% sure this is something you would already have thought of..but I am spelling it out for those searching who may need things spelled out for them. And I would subscribe to that plugin Happy2 Play. Thanks to you all for helping me through this!
Carlo 4561 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 One thing to keep in mind for using the backup plugin is it resets all watched states (watched and unwatched) status so you only likely want to use it the first time. After that you might want to try something that only syncs WATCHED content or just manually mark you own account after watching something as a family. I showed another user how to do this just the other day here in this thread:
Familia Chapin 12 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Ok I just did that and it worked like a charm! All is well in the world. I appreciate the quick help. 1
