media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I just noticed something that is trivial but bothering me. I migrated my server from e VM to a physical server. Got everything up and running and started a scan of the library folders and subsequently a metadata refresh (just because). After the process the homescreen images for the Movies and TV Series and Collection were all changed to show various/random poster art of content contained in them. This lasted for about a couple hours and then the TV Series and Movies change back to the generic images that they are set to by default while the Collections continues to reflect various/random posters of media contained in it. My question is, is there a way to have it keep the posters and not revert back to the generic images?
ebr 16187 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Hi. What generic images are you talking about?
Carlo 4561 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 ebr, I think he means custom graphics he's applied to his libraries get replaced which shouldn't happen.
media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Sorry, I should have posted an image... see below. The collections library has the nice image with assorted posters of contents of the library. Both the TV Series and Movies had this also after the scan and metadata refresh but reverted back to these images. Edited August 17, 2020 by media-junkie
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Hmm I get the opposite as libraries will have the default icons until a library scan happens to create the dynamic images. What server version? Edited August 17, 2020 by Happy2Play
media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 4.4.3.0 What I saw happen was during the metadata refresh (with replacing images) it created the dynamic images. It stayed that way for an hour or so and then... poof. Back to what you see above. I've repeated this process a few times to try and make it "stick".
Luke 42083 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Sounds like you still have your custom images files in there somewhere getting picked up.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 We may need to see a server log for this then. There shouldn't be any reason for dynamic image to be removed, other than to update them which happens I believe every 7-14 days.
media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 If I edit the library and just delete the image under "edit images" and refresh again should this resolve it?

media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Yes, these was a delete option. The only image in there is the ones shown in my screenshot.

media-junkie 1 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Just now, Happy2Play said: If there is a delete option you have that image assigned to that library for some reason. After a rescan the dynamic images are now showing.
