brunovon 1 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Have 2 criticak issues: 1. Everytime I log into emby, my server is not there. I click on add and then add the server by connecting to emby connect. Then when I log out and leave. Next day or a few hours later I log back and the server is not there. Have to click add server again. 2. Transcoding on lower bandwith is terrible. Watching remotely the movie constantly freezes and buffers. Have reduced player to SD settings and tried everything. Still no good. Any ideas why this is happening.
Carlo 4561 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 What client are you using? Are you connecting to a server on your LAN or over the Internet? Same question for watching remotely, what client, what type of network (cell network)? If you look at the server dashboard, click on the "i" info button on the device doing the remote playback you will see the reason for the transcode. You can also get this info on most clients bring up stats for nerds, normally found on the cog icon.

Thanks !

When I log in, the server is no longer there. So I add the server and then it works. watch the movie, shut down the browser and computer. Next day, when I log in, server is no longer there. I have used a dedicated domain and also the external public IP of the server. For some reason the server does not saty and get removed. This issue started happening a month ago and also because of the transcoding and playback issues on roku remotely, I added back Plex. Didn't want to do that. So now have both running.
ebr 16195 Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Do you have your browser set to clear browsing data on shut down?
Luke 42085 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 @brunovon are you still having an issue with this?
Happy2Play 9784 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I can not reproduce unless this is a timing issue. @brunovon Do you have your Connect username linked to a local user, correct?
