DGMayor 90 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Since the initial rollout of MB3 Server, the old forums were littered with people having issues only to find out they were on the dev build. Eric has stated in threads that the dev build isn't meant for mass consumption, so why not set up the server update option to not allow you to select dev unless your supporter key matches those in a database of the alpha testers, devs, etc.. Otherwise you can do beta/production. Just a thought.
Luke 42077 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 No there was a bug with MBC that had dev selected as the default. That's why so many MBC users were on dev. It's been fixed going forward. For the server, it's not a problem, as the number of people on dev is small. I don't want to limit the ability because it's good for us. We publicly suggest that you stay off dev, but it's a good for us that a few people elect to do it anyway because they have helped find issues that our internal team has missed. It's basically the google chrome model. Plus, one thing I do all the time when people report issues is fix it on dev, and ask them privately to verify it.
