Hey guys... user accounts are visisble to everyone outside of the local network

How have you configured these options on each user account? (bottom of the user profile page)

Okay, you didn't really answer my question.

How about providing an example of what you are seeing, how are you determining that user accounts are visible to everyone? Screenshot / photo perhaps?

Yes it is set. it always has been.. I suppose the last update broke it because i've recently noticed it. No need for the screen shot Im an experienced enough user in that regard lol

I would take a look at your Network settings in the server. It could be configured in such a way that the server is unable to determine that a connection is a remote connection.

It's my same local address as aways.. I havn't changed any network settings from when it worked to now.

Using a Proxy or anything like? Or does the connection go straight from your router to the Emby server?

Using a DNS A pointer for the remote access ... Otherwise yes straight from the rounter to server

You never really posted the info we need to troubleshoot this.

So can you either give us the info

Or I could likely help you out via remote session as mentioned previously.

What have I not posted ? I've read that before and there are no steps to post. I have done nothing (at least not purposely) to any network settings between when it worked and when I noticed it other than running the last update.. Has anyone running the server on windows 10 checked if this occurs for them?

What other info would you like me to post?

I would consider a remote session but are you some random guy or acutual support for emby ?

But that's what i'm telling you... I haven't done anything and I'm discribing the problem as is... There is nothing more to say other than it worked and then I noticed it when a user was trying to login remotely and sent me a screenshot, from which I noticed all users were visible dispite the settings selected to hide them from remote connections.

You have yet to even tell us which version of Emby Server you are running.

I can assure you @cayars is Official Support, and not some random guy on the internet.

But I can say I do not see this behavior on current 4.4.3.0 stable or 4.5.0.16 beta.

I can assure you @cayars is Official Support, and not some random guy on the intern

I did mention I'm on the lastest update... so that would be 4.4.3.0. If @cayars is official then yes we can do a remote session at his discretion.

Yes he is a "Official Support representative for Emby."

@Abobader is there a way to list cayars on the staff page?

Sorry, again my poor impulse control strikes. 

Actually @cayars is one of the three most helpful people on the board and one of the ones that has been most patient with me and my stumbles through the world of Emby. 

I sometimes try to help as well but my fumblings are more often guesses while @cayarsalmost always knows what he is talking about. If he can help this old cranky geezer he has a good chance of helping anybody. 

Now we don't want @cayars getting a swelled head so I am reserving two good insults for use in the future to balance this overdose of sweetness. 😎👿😜

It raises a very good security point tbh - anybody 'could' pretend to be Emby support and request a team session.

Is there a way to have a category for 'Support Specialist' rather than 'Members' on the forum profile ?  ie along the lines of 'Admin' and 'Mod's' for example?

Anybody can edit their profile to add 'Support Specialist' under their name - so while useful, this could be abused.
