I'm having to create a new Windows / Sign In account for myself on the computer i'm using but I want to be able to access or ideally move the Emby server from the older account to my newer account - how can I do this?

Here is what I would do. First note the location where Emby is storing you key data.  From the web admin at the bottom of the Dashboard you'll see the paths and will look similar to this:

Location.png.a0b2aba1d2c4d8edbdd483f5a3a51c7e.png

What we care about is the path to the Emby-Server which you'll see inside the red box.  Note this address.

Create the new username you will be using. Stop Emby and login as an admin if not already.

What you want to do is COPY (not move) the data from this location to the new user location.  You see above the present owner is "Administrator".

Next check permissions of this new location and make sure the new user is the owner of the data and has read/write privs to this location.

If you have changed any of the paths for things like transcoding, caching, etc you need to make sure the new owner has proper privileges for these locations.

ALSO don't forget to make sure the new user you created has proper access to your media locations.

Maybe needed, maybe not depending on how you installed Emby originally but, I'd now login as new user and install Emby Server again over top your new existing installation.

Start Emby and it will normally just work. If not report back and we'll help.

If something goes wrong you should be able to still log back in with the previous user and Emby will run (maybe might need a quick install again).
