Smith’s 0 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I’m new to Emby and am trying to set it up on my Roku tv and it keeps asking for a host ? I’ve tried typing a few different things in there and can’t seem to get any to work to add a server. Help please.
Luke 42077 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I would suggest checking out our quick start guide: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159034-quick-start Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
Smith’s 0 Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 It keeps telling me unable to connect to server . Is there a video tutorial for Roku ?
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 (edited) To make it plain, the Roku TV Emby client is a client which has to be told where the Emby server is to connect to it. Either someone has given you details of their server, or you need to install your own; the Emby organisation supplies the software for this, not access to media you don't have. Have you downloaded and installed the server, and defined a library or two with media content? As part of this process you should test it using a local browser on the machine where the server is running, so that you know things are working before trying to connect other devices like the Roku TV. Carlo 4560 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 The link Luke provided covers what @pwhodges just explained in detail and will hold you hand installing things.

pwhodges 2012 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 From the links in Luke's and my posts above. Paul
