escodaddy 0 Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) I finally got my Emby server on my home theater PC up and running again after being dormant for a year. I ran all Windows updates (running x64 Win 8.1), Emby Server update to 4.4.3. When running on my Nvidia Shield app client, I keep getting Server freezes around 10-14 mins into playback. At first I thought it was something with bitrate, so I ensured everything is set to auto, and H/W transcode remains to Auto/enabled/no throttling. With the same settings as 2019 (last use), I was able to access via Roku internationally and never had playback issues like this. My hardware is a AMD APU A10-7850k w/ R7 radeon graphics, fysa. With this freeze it starts a whole process of exiting the app, then it cant find my server again, and I have to do Emby Connect/pin retrieve to get it to see the server again. But on my Windows clients I easily find the server again, yet on the Android client it can be painstakingly frustrating and take multiple logins/attempts. I noticed my Emby server clock AND Nvidia shield clock/time were off sync by 20 mins also, so I thought maybe that was a potential conflict (?) but nothing changed. I've never had these issues before with this PC and other clients (Roku, other win machines, Pixel phone). ** Ive watched episodes of my media on both an Android client and Windows 10 tablet, seamlessly, back to back epsides so far w/o pauses/freezes. Any help would be appreciated!! Edited July 28, 2020 by escodaddy
Luke 42078 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Hi there, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
Carlo 4561 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Is your Shield TV and Server on the same network or going through the Internet? For the media that's freezing on you, is this being transcoded? Can you take a picture of playback with Stats for Nerds turned on (gear icon during playback on the client). Is this happening with all your media or just a couple of videos?
