Admin/User preference to hide play overlay button

I've added some custom CSS code to hide the overlay play button. But this means it's hidden for all my users, even though some of them might prefer it.

It's a really simple line of code, so I wonder if it could be included in DISPLAY or PLAYBACK preferences per user.
