BrettM 7 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hi when I start Media browser classic I always get the following 2 messages 1. "Mplus server plugin not installed or incompadable version" when I go to the configuration in media Browser (not server) and the check the plugins installed (plugin catalog) it says I have MB Plus classic version 1.0.1.0 (Beta) installed? I am using the "Crystal" theme: v 1.0.11.0 (Registered). :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 2. When I first boot the HTPC I have the server and media Browser set to start when the PC starts but I always get this message "could not connect to Media Browser 3 Server. Please be sure it is running on the local network would you like to retry Y or N" If I click on yes it goes into the Media Browser no problem In the PC I have a solid state drive that windows and the media browser & server are running off then all my media is running on another drive with just the media and nothing else. Can some please explain in easiest terms as possible what I have to do to fix both issues. Thank you in advance Brett
BATTLE DONKEY 98 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 2. I get that sometimes, its because the server sometimes takes a bit longer to load up and MBClassic loads up before the server has a chance to fully load up
ebr 16169 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 2. I get that sometimes, its because the server sometimes takes a bit longer to load up and MBClassic loads up before the server has a chance to fully load up You may need to insert a delay in the start up of MBC in order to account for this. You could use a batch file or you could use the techniques described over in the topic on this subject in the MBT forum. 1. "Mplus server plugin not installed or incompadable version" As the message indicates it is the server plug-in that is missing or incorrect. Install the MB Plus plug-in on your server.
BATTLE DONKEY 98 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Ya, BrettM sent me a pm and I told him about that same post u are referring to about adding a delay and also to possible causes as to why MB plus isn't working for him. I asked him to carry on the conversation here to get further assistance on the matter
BrettM 7 Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Thanks Guys for the help I really appreciate it and sorry for being a pain, As im very much a beginner I noticed ebr said to make a batch file I would not have a clue how to do this or even install it into the MBC. Is there a link to the techniques discibed in MBT forum ?
BATTLE DONKEY 98 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 No worries, everyone is a beginner at some point. This is the post @@ebr was referring to, have a read n hope it helps http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/6205-booting-pc-with-mbserver-and-mbt-installed/?fromsearch=1
BrettM 7 Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Ok I have just gone through the complete setup as per the post (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser 1. Go To Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Task Scheduler - Done 2 In the left pane click on Task Scheduler Library. Then in the right pane, click on Create Task (Not Create Basic Task) - Done 3. A window will pop up, Type in a name for the task (ex. MBT Media Browser Theater) - Done 4. Click the TRIGGERS Tab, in the drop down dialog box for "Begin this task" select at Log on or at Start up. Which ever works for you. - Done 5. CHECK the "Delay Task For" and in the drop down box select an option that works for you. Or you can type in your own custom setting (Ex. 5 seconds, 10 seconds etc. ). Click OK - done 6. Click on ACTIONS tab. In the Program Box browse to the location of MBT. Most of the time its in (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Theater\System\MediaBrowser.UI.exe) so you can copy and paste this address and just insert your user name Click OK - Problem as explained below 7. Click on SETTINGS tab. UNCHECK "Stop task if running longer than:" Remove MBT from the start up folder. Now MBT will start up after a certain amount of seconds you specify. Which will allow it to start AFTER MBS When I browse to the location this is what I have: (C:\Users\hits001\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser- Classic MediaBrowser - Install Logs MediaBrowser - Server If I click on the MediaBrowser - Classic in that folder there is only a folder saying "Configurations" they are all config files I cannot find: \System\MediaBrowser.UI.exe to go onto the rest of the location file needed. so I'm not sure what to do here now ?
ebr 16169 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Those instructions are for MB Theater - you need to set it up for MBC instead. On your desktop there should already be a shortcut for MB Classic. Instead of navigating to the UI.EXE, point it to that shortcut in the actions setup.
BrettM 7 Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks ebr, I pointed it to the shortcut as explained but when it opens up it opens media centre then I have to click on the media browser icon in media centre to open it ?? the media browser icon has the windows media icon in the bottom right corner. is there a way I get media browser to open instead of windows media centre ? thank in advance! Brett
ebr 16169 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 First, ensure that double-clicking the shortcut goes straight to MBC. It should. If that is working okay then I guess you can't use a shortcut in that task target. Instead put this in the target path: C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe and this in the arguments field: /nostartupanimation /entrypoint:{CE32C570-4BEC-4aeb-AD1D-CF47B91DE0B2}\{FC9ABCCC-36CB-47ac-8BAB-03E8EF5F6F22}
