Guest Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Hi, This is an image from a small part of my series, which shows only 2 of them with the episodes. All the rest, around 95% of the episodes are not shown, show the seasons all empty, despite the metadata being in the folders. This happened with the tracking of libraries and it happens in many films too. I did a test, moving an entire series and when resetting, it is simply not added back to the library, even though I manually scan the library. I ask for assistance on this, as it seems to be quite worrying. Thank you now.
Guest Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 (edited) Emby shows the Season, however empty and the files and metadata are always saved in the video folder. Edited July 19, 2020 by CarlosLima
Carlo 4561 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 @CarlosLima Any chance we could do a TeamViewer session where we can try to assist you? I'd like to get a look at a few things and work directly with you on this to figure out your problem/issue. Send me a PM with a link back to this thread if interested in doing this. Carlo
Solution ebr 16178 Posted July 19, 2020 Solution Posted July 19, 2020 What happens if you take the date out of those episode names? So Avulu S01E01 instead of Avulu 2018 S01E01...

I did not use a date in the name of the episode and I went on to face another problem I had and followed the guidance on the Emby website. Considering that I have many episodes still without dates and considering that this problem of disappearing "only" several episodes from the libraries, I will remove the year of episodes from this Series and see what happens. I will inform you here. I have countless series in which all episodes contain the date (which I started to include in the face of guidance received in the forum and on the emby website) and until yesterday, before a new general screening, they were all functional. Unless I have made a crazy and big mess in this action to include the year before the episode number. I will review this with utmost attention. Thanks for the tip. Edited July 19, 2020 by CarlosLima
Guest Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 (edited) [does anyone already want to kill themselves with clueless refinements?] I MADE A BIG CONFUSION WHEN INTERPRETING WHERE I SHOULD HAVE THE YEAR IN THE SERIES. IT IS CLEAR ON THE EMBY WEBSITE THAT THE YEAR SHOULD BE ONLY IN THE SERIES TITLE AND NOT IN THE EPISODES: The correct:Avlu (2018) Season 01 / Avlu S0101 1080p.mp4 Yes, by removing the year in the episode name:before - Avlu 2018 S01E01 1080p HC Sub.mp4now - Avlu S01E01 1080p HC Sub.mp4 SOLVED, THEREFORE UPDATED METADATA and the episodes are all shown, as it should be. As a guarantee, I did the same in the NEW AMSTERDAM Series, which contains 2 seasons and also contained the year and everything was gone. Now also perfect. Your tip was very valuable to me and I thank you for eternity for that. Thank you very much. Now I will have to use days or weeks until I can remove the year from all the episodes that I applied the year to, but that is something I will have to deal with. Edited July 19, 2020 by CarlosLima

Carlo I just installed Teamview and before sending the private message to you, I tested the @ebr tip and resolved it immediately, so I also thank you for the great help in this matter and I will keep remote access for the next time we need it. Thank you very much.
Guest Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Hi, Unfortunately and I am sorry for that, I have to resume this discussion, because the tips of the friends in fact 'solved', however, not everything and I see it important to report in detail here, hoping that the administrators will also try to help in the solution of the case. When removing the year from the episode, in fact the series was tracked, but now I believe that this was not because of removing the year, but because ... 1. move the series folder to another location 2. scan the series library so that the moved series is removed from the library 3. move the series back to its original location 4. scan the library again. In short, what makes the series appear correctly is the action of removing it and replacing it so that Emby recognizes it as a new series. The certainty of this is I had more than 300 series with the year in the episodes and all were perfect in Emby and what caused the confusion (disappearance of the episodes) was a general scan that I did, without changing anything, therefore, possibly a bug. Yesterday I noticed that I have (still) hundreds of series with the problem (missing episodes) and just yesterday I did the same job of moving / scanning / moving / scanning in 3 series and when scanning again, the 3 were perfect. So, the solution I found is that unfortunately I will do this with the hundreds of series, one by one and this generates a great discomfort that even causes dread with customers opening support for the same subject. Thank you for your help.
Luke 42078 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Can you please go over a specific example? Thanks.
