On my LG TV the "next episode starts in..." pop-up displays for the last 30 or so seconds of an episode, and has two buttons: one to start the next episode immediately and one to hide the popup.

I was watching something on an Android TV yesterday and the popup appeared three minutes before the end of the episode, and only had buttons to hide the popup and stop automatic playback of the next episode.

The LG app also shows the episode description, the Android app doesn't.

Why is this?

It's an option you can enable.

Yeah, and you're going to see that go away in the LG app soon I believe.  In Android TV, you can also press up to reveal the larger view.

As for the buttons, the three things you can do are:

1) Dismiss the popup and continue playing - back button (on remote)

2) Advance to the next episode now - Start button

3) Stop playback now (thus, not advancing) - Stop button

As for the time it pops up - that is dependent on the length of the item you played as movies (long items) can have several minutes of credits at the end.  For items less than 45 minutes, the display comes up at 45 seconds (which, for most of my content is usually almost perfect).

It comes up at 30-40 seconds on everything in the LG app.

The problem is it's mostly used for TV, which has short end credits no matter its length. Thus, the popup appearing with three minutes remaining. Which is a problem.

Even on movies, it depends how old the movie is. These days, movies tend to have about ten minutes of credits regardless of runtime. Back in the 50s they tended to have no end credits at all.

I like having the description though.

All the credits were at the beginning in the early days of movies.

I'll change it to remain constant for episodes regardless of length.
