Why no web based server changes?

One of the great things about plex that it does right is the ability to log into the server just by going to the web address for the server. 

such as going to https://app.plex.tv/desktop will allow me to fully control my server from anywhere with ease. 

I tried to log in with my laptop to turn off subs by default but i couldnt get to the server. i had to team viewer into my desktop. This should definitely be a feature

What did you do to try and log in? Have you set up remote connections correctly?

ok well after a strange interaction i was able to get it to work. First it wasnt letting me log in.. it was just sitting and spinning. Then it logged me in but then immediately told me that it couldnt log me in despite me seeing my admin account listed. I had to add the server IP (which i dont get why) but it was able to let me log in finally and change settings.

 

and no i didnt set up any kind of remote connections. those should all work already by default.. and they appear to be working. the experience is just not a very smooth process

https://app.emby.media

or 

http://app.emby.media (if you haven't setup SSL on your Emby Server).
