William LeDuc @gmail 2 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I have a music documentary library where movies made for TV are not identified. They are on IMDB and shown as a made for TV movie. I initially set it up as movie content type, so I changed it to mixed content which I assumed would cover movies and TV and got the same results. I also assumed that if it was mixed content and used they Identify feature that I would find a reference to a TV db, but it was the same a movie content type. This was frustrating and I believe should be much more straight forward. Here are a couple of the movies: On the Wall: Thirty Seconds to Mars (2014) A Tribute to Les Paul (2007)
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I suggest you keep the library as "movies" and then you use "identify" to fix the matches. Fill in the IMDB ID field and nothing else and hit "search." I have had quite good luck fixing made for TV movies that way. If you have something that is like a documentary but broadcast in multiple parts then it can often be matched as a TV show but it needs to be in a TV library in the form. This will use TheTVDB to get matches TV Shows <- The TV library points here _______ShowName (year) ____________Season 01 __________________ShowName (year) - s01e01 - Optional Name.ext __________________ShowName (year) - s01e02 - Optional Name.ext __________________and so on for the shows in season 01 The sXXeYY part is very important as that is what Emby's matching works off of for TV shows. The (year) can be left off if the name is unique. That works for me with very rare exceptions. I keep the made for TV movies in my movie library and my TV documentaries or mini-series in my TV directory. I guess you could use "mixed" content but I do not trust that library type for anything.
William LeDuc @gmail 2 Posted July 8, 2020 Author Posted July 8, 2020 Thank you for the suggestion, but that is what I first tried. What you will find is that Emby does not do a IMDB lookup and depends on another DB to have the IMDB id, so even though you have the IMDB id it doesn't help.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 (edited) What providers do you have enabled? I just tested "A Tribute to Les Paul (2007)" and it does not appear on TMDB or TVDB, but does appear on OMDB. Actually they both only appear on OMDB. But relatively no data. William LeDuc @gmail 2 Posted July 8, 2020 Author Posted July 8, 2020 Thanks. It didn't occur to me to activate additional DBs. I added OMDB for all the categories, but after a complete metadata refresh it still is not picked up. Still no casts & crew or image. That doesn't make sense. There was plenty of metadata for On the Wall in the OMDB.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 There are none listed on the provider for A Tribute to Les Paul (2007) as shown above. But for On the Wall: Thirty Seconds to Mars, yes there is more info, but no images for either. Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) @Luke I see what is happening with Plot/overview. The plugin is using Short plot where above json is Long. here is Short Quote {"Title":"On the Wall: Thirty Seconds to Mars","Year":"2014","Rated":"N/A","Released":"25 Feb 2014","Runtime":"46 min","Genre":"Music","Director":"Andrew McAllister","Writer":"N/A","Actors":"Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, Tomo Milicevic","Plot":"Behind-the-scenes of one of music's most celebrated rock bands. Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Tried a regular movie and no actors/people were written to nfo/database from OMDB data. I would have expected People (director, writer, actors) to be be written, as for Short or Long overview I personally would expect Long as the way OMDB truncates Short the overview would suggest more and you don't have anymore. I am guessing the people by name are just currently not used from OMDB. As long as we document this I don't see a issue. But if OMDB is the only source there will be the question of why we did not write said available info.
Luke 42081 Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 I think we may have ignored it because it's giving it to us in a comma delimited list but I'll have to review. Thanks.
Luke 42081 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 @Happy2Play yes this is exactly what's going on.
