Hi,

I have just been looking through my appdata\emby\metadata\library folder to find an enormous amount of duplicated album folders, is there any way of cleaning this up?

It's best not to touch appdata\emby\metadata\library folder.  What might appear as a duplicate hardly ever is.

Yes the real question is are you seeing this in the UI?  Those duplicates reference what Music tracks?

Hi,

Thanks for your replies,  I am not seeing any issues I just discovered this trying to search for all of these blank people images which as you know is a different thread.  They are indeed all album covers it would seem for some reason?

Is there any way to clean up?

I don't believe so as those would be in id folders for each track of that album.  So removing that image from that id folder should remove the image from the track it is assigned to if my guess is correct in what we are currently seeing.

Example of 2 tracks (every track has its own image item) Inspected the image in the Now Playing UI then entered that item id into Swagger ImageService /Items/{Id}/Images

Y:\\Emby-Server\\programdata\\metadata\\library\\f9\\f9fe6b2dce0e1c96dbbe42d147e76f84\\poster.jpg"

"Y:\\Emby-Server\\programdata\\metadata\\library\\21\\212538adc08c9aca864208c6ea2d5ad9\\poster.jpg"

Even though every track on the album has the same image.  So 20 tracks will equal 20 duplicated images.

Happy2Play just elaborated on what I was getting at.  They really aren't duplicates in the sense that they are "extra" or "duplicated" but are the way they are after years of accommodating user requests to allow fine adjustments of libraries with complete adjustment of pics.
