my emby stopped transcode, I can't watch or convert .avi files.

Now when I try to watch it on my cell phone it goes as direct, no transcode more

You got a SocketException shortly after trying to play that file.

Have you tried multiple different files?

What happens if you force it to transcode?

after reinstalling emby server others .avi returned to work

I am wondering why you need it to transcode in the first place?

My phone (Mi8 Pro) plays AVI's just fine directly.
I believe your S9 should be able as well.

Avi is a container; there could still be differences in the codecs of the files concerned.

when I watch over the mobile network, it always transcoded, because of the slow network.

I managed to solve converting everything to .mp4, but it is strange because it was working before in .avi 😵

I did not know that, very curious

Problem is likely in the network bandwidth.

If you can try it while connected to WIFI.

Seems so, at least the transcode reason in his screenshot is referring to that.

.avi files tend to be more problematic than other types. We are looking into improving it.
