EODCrafter 181 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 (edited) The Original install of NVIDIA 460 from the Website did not work, only after updating to 465 did it finally work..... They did something (or Emby did) that made NVIDIA Driver 460 not work...I have no clue what, but thanks! I got rid of that massive toolkit! Edited April 18, 2021 by EODCrafter

softworkz 5066 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 I'm sure it's not due to your hardware. As it is Docker, maybe it is required to run the Nvidia installation on the host OS first, so that it can update the kernel driver, but I'm not really familiar with Docker and it doesn't make a difference for you anyway, so no need to explore that. The 465 driver you have installed now, is not a distro-driver, it's a full Nvidia driver that became visible through the installation.
softworkz 5066 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Yes, can be confusing... The Nvidia download installs a new package source and that package source includes both, the 460 and the 465 driver version, that's why you also saw the 465 option in the Ubuntu software updater window.
