Hi there,

For some reason I am unable to watch movies remotely. Not sure what im doing wrong. Server is configured with DDNS with port 8096 including my router. I can browse the server and its content but when i click on a movie to play, i just get a thinking circle and nothing happens.

But I can watch the same movie via my mobile device on my 4G/mobile network.

Attached is the last log I got when I i tried to watch remotely.

Thank you in advance.

So your android phone works so that tells us the server is configured ok.

What was the other client you get the spinning circle?

As a diagnostic test and also to learn about a really good client worth using try downloading Emby Theater for Windows.

Does this connect and work to play videos?

I'd like to take at quick look remote via TeamViewer if possible and see if I notice any settings that are off a bit.

Can you download and install TeamViewer.com then send me a PM with the username and one-time use password?  I should be able to do it pretty much as soon as you send it to me today or we can schedule a time.

What I also noticed, movies will only play/work on mobile devices. Not sure if this info helps in any ways.

Greetings

Did you receive help regarding this? i am also having the same problem since this morning, it works fine on Android Cellphone but not my client laptop running Emby Theatre 3.0.16

Hi, which version of Theater are you running on the laptop, Desktop or Store version?

Are you doing the test remotely or on your LAN?

What exactly is happening?

@Strini Munsamy, @Sandile

Could both of you create a test user on your system and then fill in my Emby Connect username of "Cayars" in the optional user account field for Emby Connect?
I need to your server's name as well so I can find it among the different servers I have access to.

Besides the Server name I'd like to have a couple movie or show season/episode names to test with.

Strini, there is something else I'd like you to try and that is flipping the status or doing the opposite of however it's setup up now. If not enabled, then turn it on.  If not enabled then enable it.

turning off this option at the bottom of the Transcode Menu "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly"

What I'd like you to try as well with a file you've never used before is playing it back without any subtitiles being loaded.

Hey cayars, it is working now, I tried something different though, my pc Client at home was not working with Emby Theatre but my laptop was working fine with Emby Theatre Client, so I copied the files within the Emby Directory from my C drive on my laptop than replaced the ones on my Desktop Client PC in C Drive than it worked afternoons😂😂

That's certainly one way to re-install the app. :)

Glad you got it working!
