kurtgschumacher 36 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 When I search for something that should have a lot of hits, I only get 15 results on the slider. For example, I collect horror movies, and I have a LOT of movies with "frankestein" or "dracula" in the title. But I only get 15. If there were more than 15 I used to be able to click on the word "Movies" above the slider and get a page with all the movies listed, but that doesn't work any more. This really cripples the search function. If I search for a specific title, like "The Ghost of Fankenstein", it is found and displayed. I've tried this on the browser, Android, and Windows "theater" app, and they all work (or don't) the same way. Please put the original functionality back, because otherwise the search function is not very useful.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 There has always been a coded limits applied to search results. \system\dashboard-ui\search\searchresults.js return query.Limit=16 Will have to search but pretty sure there are feature requests as this has been discussed before.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 Please read my post completely. I know that the search only returns a limited number of hits. But if there were more results than the limit I used to be able to click on the word "Movies" above the search results to get a page with a grid of all the matching movies. And please do not tell me it's always been that way, because I remember how happy I was when I found I could do that, and I have used it many times. And the fact that your "search" function is only a "partial search" is, in my opiinion, absurd, and it makes me wonder if I should look for a different medai server.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 (edited) Sorry I have never seen clickable headers within Search. Unless this was specific client/app. I have quite a few versions on a test machine and none have clickable headers in Search. But a dev would have to confirm. There are clickable headers within a Person. Edited July 1, 2020 by Happy2Play
Luke 42083 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 We're going to be revamping the search user interface in upcoming updates. Thanks for the feedback.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 Happy2Play, you're right, that's probably what I was thinking of. Which makes me wonder even more why the arguably more important search function is crippled. No further discussion required I guess. 1
