Server scheduled tasks

Is it possible to add server tasks to any of the mobile clients?  For instance, I am sitting in front of the TV and I want to watch something I just added to my library, but it's not showing up in the library.  It would be nice to be able to kick off a library scan from the app installed on my phone or tablet.  I realize I could open a browser and connect to the web client, but that's not as convenient as being able to do it within the app itself especially since the web app doesn't seem to work on my Windows Phone browser.

I would just open the Dashboard in a browser as you say - that's how I manage MB3 90% of the time ;)

So are you saying you don't think it would be better to have this functionality in the mobile apps?

If it easy to add it would be good I suppose.

Let's see what the developers say.

MBC has this feature (kick off a library scan) on the config page.

Thanks ebr, I guess I forgot about that.  I don't do a lot of mobile viewing, so that changes my view on this.  This may still be a nice feature to add for those that do a lot of mobile streaming.

You can also just hit 'record' or ctl-r from your movie collection to force it to refresh if you know where the change is.

What do you mean it doesn't work on the windows phone browser?

When I try to load the web client on my Windows phone, I get the message "Please ensure you're running at least IE10 and that compatibility mode is disabled."  After I click "ok" the page is blank.  I have tried setting the website preference to mobile and desktop, both return the same message.  As far as I know, there is no compatibility mode in the Windows Phone version of IE.

Ok, I'll look at this for the next server release.
