Hey guys,

Is there any way to disable the Emby volume slider? I use HTPC's and desktop WebGUI 99% of the time, it's incredibly annoying when your keyboard/remote volume buttons control both OS and Emby volumes.

For example, if you turn the volume down, windows and Emby goes down, then when you turn it up they both go back up. However, if the Emby volume is already at max, just the OS changes.
This means the 2 audio controls are competing and mostly just annoying what little OCD I have. Constantly setting Emby back to max volume with a mouse.

Or rather, unbind the Emby slider from VOL + and VOL -.

Hi, we don't currently have any options for this, but it's possible for the future.

@Luke Please count me in on disabling app response to system volume adjustments. It's tremendously inconvenient.

Thanks.

How has this not been addressed yet? This issue makes Emby unusable for me. Back to Plex I guess...

We're working on a brand new Windows app and then this won't be an issue anymore. Thanks.

I've been waiting patiently. But now I must ask, any timeframe on this?
It would honestly just be great to be able to unbind emby commands from VOLUP/VOLDN controls.
Still gives me constant headaches when one of the kids slams the volume button while watching something. Walk in the living room and see windows volume at 100% and Emby volume at 2% and them complaining they can't hear anything.

Hopefully not too much longer. Thanks.

I'm still running into this issue, any advice? I'm running Emby Theater 3.0.20 on Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Keyboard/remote volume buttons control both Windows volume and Emby Theater volume which can result in a situation where Emby Theater is at 10% and Windows volume is at 100% (demonstrated in screenshots). When the volume levels differ either media audio is fine while navigation noises are extremely loud, or media is very quite and navigation sounds are normal. It's easy to manually sync the volume, but it is an annoyance. I'd love an option to simply lock the Emby media volume.

OK we are looking into improving this. Thanks.

This behaviour is STILL present in the windows app. And it's still extremely annoying.

Can you please either...

1) change the keystrokes that change the volume

2) provide an option to disable the volume slider

3) provide an option to link the slider to the master system volume.
