MisterAngelus 7 Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 Emby says this media file is broken... I get a green screen when attempting to play but VLC and Plex don't have a problem with it Can anyone tell me why Emby does? or why it needs transcoding I've played other 4k files before without issue hows this one different embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63728684969.txt ffmpeg-transcode-17b4261d-0ae8-4386-812f-dce47eb56d35_1.txt
MisterAngelus 7 Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Was anyone able to learn anything from the logs?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 If you disabled HWA Decoding do you get the same results? Most green screen topics point to something with HWA.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 One other thing to check would be lowering the in app quality lower then the current Auto/35Mbps. The Roku itself may be choking on the high bitrate.
MisterAngelus 7 Posted June 26, 2020 Author Posted June 26, 2020 lowering the quality did not help. turning off HWA did allow it to load but jt would not direct play even though the Roku ultra supports 4k hevc and aac stereo audio it insisted transcoding and I have direct played files with even higher bitrate then this one and transcoding eliminates the HDR. and as I said for troubleshooting purposes I tried with Plex and it had no issue I've never had this issue with Emby

MisterAngelus 7 Posted June 26, 2020 Author Posted June 26, 2020 I didn't know automatic was not exactly automatic I thought it scanned the media file as it loaded and set the appropriate bitrate However you were correct when I moved the quality in the Roku from automatic to one step below the video played great so thank you
