sergium 0 Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 (edited) Libraries are not showing on Home Screen. This happened after I tried to edit the system files of Emby Server. Can I restore it without reinstall? Edited June 22, 2020 by sergium
Luke 42079 Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Hi there, have you checked the home screen settings for your emby user? It's possible you edited them, then forgot about it, and now you're getting an unexpected result. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 I"m having a similar issue (Though I did not edit any system files). Happened a few weeks ago. I updated to 4.4.3.0 to see if that would fix the issue and it did not. I also verified that i have the home screen configured properly. I also reconfigured the homescreen to see if that would fix it. Below are images of what I"m seeing. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
pwhodges 2012 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Are the access rights for the libraries in your user configuration correct? Paul 1
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Yes, I currently have `Enable access to all libraries`/`Enable access to all channels` Checked for the logged in user. (I only have 1 user)
Carlo 4561 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Out of curiosity, do you have any other clients to test with? If so do you get the same results in say Android? What happens if you try a different browser? This will help figure out if it's a browser issue (client) or server config issue.

sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 @cayars This happens across all clients I have: (web browser, andriod, xbox one). @ebr, I unchecked all access so the user had access to 0 libraries. Hit Save, Then re-checked the `Enable access to all libraries`. Hit Save. And refreshed the Browser and other clients. They still just show Home/Favorites. Additional info about the Server. I"m running it via docker on a linux box I Removed the container and image, then re-downloaded the latest release 4.4.3.0. My config is stored separately than the container so it persists across the docker container/image remove/re-download.
ebr 16184 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Can you show us the configuration screen where you chose which sections to show on your home screen?
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Sure! Here is my full home screen config across 3 images.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 (edited) Edit removed due to ebr's next post which has the answer. Edited June 28, 2020 by cayars
ebr 16184 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 So what are you expecting to be seeing that you are not? I notice you did not select "My Media" for any of the sections, so your library listing is not going to show up there. 1
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 @ebr, I used to see `Home Favorites Music TV Movies` across the top where it now just says `Home Favorites` @cayars, I'll PM you.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 (edited) Look at the setting for the first option. "My Media" is what you want. Edited June 28, 2020 by cayars 1
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Ok, so that does put the various media collections on the Home Screen. Am I crazy? I could have sworn the collections were accessible where the `Home Favorites` text is now.
sampsonight 4 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 It doesn't really matter if I"m crazy or not, this does get me the result I am looking for. Thank you @cayars & @ebr! I know you two have much better things to do on a Sunday and I really appreciate the help 1
ebr 16184 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 No problem. You are thinking of once inside a library, then you see some different views like Suggestions, Genres, etc.
linibind 5 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 I know this is a very old thread, but I had this exact issue and the fix for me was - as suggested elsewhere - create a new user. On the Home Screen, "My Media" was chosen, but the Libraries under library order were not displaying. With the new user, all was as it should be. Something got misconfigured between updates and rebuilding library.db a few times (RTM and inotify watches correcting) 1
