LeidenSpain 33 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Hi, I hope to explain the problem well, because it's a bit of a strange problem. I have a library that includes a folder on a local disk, and a folder on a PlexDrive mounted GDrive drive When I go to see that library, only the local disk series are shown to me But nevertheless, if I switch to folder view, if I am shown both folders and all content I have done different tests, put the folders in a different order, ... but nothing, only the local one is always shown In the metadata, everything also appears to me I hope I have given you all the necessary explanations.
ebr 16185 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Hi. Do the ones that aren't showing up follow the proper structure and naming for TV series? Did you define the library as TV Series? TV Naming 1
LeidenSpain 33 Posted June 25, 2020 Author Posted June 25, 2020 Hi, This is not the problem, because Emby detects the series correctly. The problem only appears on the mixter libraries
Carlo 4561 Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 (edited) Does your tv series library follow the naming convention as shown in the link ebr posted above? Is the problem directories those that are stored on the Gdrive? Edited June 28, 2020 by cayars 1

The problem is not the detection of the series, but in showing them
Carlo 4561 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 (edited) Chapters detection will/should work for anything regardless if it has meta-data or not so don't judge based on that. Detection of series/show/season/episode is highly dependent on file naming and sub directory usage (naming). Emby Server can adapt to many formats but what we show/post in the knowledge base articles is what we feel is best. If you want post a pic or text of your directory layout for something that isn't identified correctly and we can make suggestions to help you get those identified correctly. Carlo 4561 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 A good test would be to take a series that isn't identified correctly and set it up to use the directory and naming convention as outlines in the knowledge base article. Rescan library. Now does that series identify correctly or not? If not post the layout either with a pic or text representation.
LeidenSpain 33 Posted June 30, 2020 Author Posted June 30, 2020 Hello, I've finally found where the problem is Emby is not able to display GDrive libraries well from 4 subfolders, but if they have less, or are on a local disk This is my original configuration: Look, the local disk is working with 5 subfolders: MNT + SERVER_MEDIA + SERVER_MEDIA + ANIA + SERIES And ths GDrive with 5: MNT + GDRIVE + SERIES + NO INFANTIL + POLICIAL Now, using a structure with only 4 subfolders, it's working: But I repeat: emby DOES see folders, and it can access them in folders view. The problem is that it does not show them in the SERIES view
Carlo 4561 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 The problem you likely have is the gdrives trying to imitate real drives. grives mounted don't act the same as local drives. When emby tries to get information about the files like creation date it will often times get back garbage from rclone so it errors out and goes to the next file. Not saying that's what's happening here but is very likely the cause. Emby doesn't officially support gdrive usage except for when it itself puts the files there using it's built in sync/download method. Take a look at your log file after doing a scan and see if it's full or errors. 1

I'm doing more testing, but it seems like it doesn't support a library inside a folder that's also in another library
Carlo 4561 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Yes you absolutely can't do that. A file/directory can only be part of one library or weird things will happen.

But in this case, I have a general folder (MOVIES) that looks perfectly, and inside there is a subfolder (POLICE) that only some people see, and I have put it in another library. If this subfolder is alone, everything works perfectly. But if I put other folders in that library, that's when it doesn't appear.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 You should spend a few minutes and read the knowledge base articles on naming: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110-tv-naming TV https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming Movies https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159113-music-naming Music https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159114-audio-book-naming Audio books https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159115-book-naming Books Having a folder in multiple libraries can seem to work but I almost guarantee that it's causing you problems that you just haven't figured out yet. Switching to folder view for example will often show weird results. Sometimes the last library to get scanned is the only one that will show the files as it updates the system. No telling how this will turn out as Emby REQUIRES each folder/files to be part of only one library. That's not a recommendation but a requirement for proper library management. 1

That way, when you put the main folder in a library, you would see all the series, including those in the subfolder. And those who cannot see all, would see only the subfolder. Maybe too complicated, or too much for for emby.
LeidenSpain 33 Posted June 30, 2020 Author Posted June 30, 2020 My idea: \TV \Walking Dead \Season 1 Walking Dead S01E01.mp4 Walking Dead S01E02.mp4 \TV \Vikings \Season 1 Vikings S01E01.mp4 Vikings S01E02.mp4 \TV \game of thrones \Season 1 game of thrones S01E01.mp4 game of thrones S01E02.mp4 \TV \HUMOR \Friends Friends S01E01.mp4 Friends S01E02.mp4 Friends S01E01.mp4 Friends S01E02.mp4 \TV \HUMOR \The IT Crowd The IT Crowd S01E01.mp4 The IT Crowd S01E02.mp4 The IT Crowd S01E01.mp4 The IT Crowd S01E02.mp4 The, you can see my intention: the series on TV root are not suitable for all ages, but HUMOR series yes
Carlo 4561 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Emby can do a lot of things for you as it will load ratings for tv shows and movies. For each user you can user you can set a parental ratings. So young children will only see G, an older child PG-13, etc You can also manually apply TAGs as well and use them for filtering purposes. Here's a great knowledge base article on these types of things: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160251-parental-controls 1

Thanks 1
ebr 16185 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Hi. You can also do what you want with physical locations, you just need to put them on a peer level instead of sub-level. 2
LeidenSpain 33 Posted June 30, 2020 Author Posted June 30, 2020 1 minute ago, ebr said: Hola. También puede hacer lo que quiera con ubicaciones físicas, solo necesita ponerlas en un nivel de igual en lugar de subnivel. I see the TAG are not the solution. Finally, I thbk the best way is - INFANT - POLICE - ADULT
Carlo 4561 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 I wouldn't give up quite so easily on the TAG feature as it can do exactly what you do at the physical level without having to create separate libraries. You can use TAGs inclusive or exclusive as a filter as well. For example I had a niece who got freaked out big time by clowns to the point she would have nightmares. You could not take her to Mc Donanlds. So for her I went through the kids library and added a tag for CLOWNS and applied it to her account to filter them out. But if using physical disc works that's fine as ebr stated above.
LeidenSpain 33 Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 ALELUYA in the end it was a bit what you were saying, but I had forgotten a function in user control: I have created a single library with ALL the series, but the user has limited what ESA library folders can access. I didn't even remember this Thanks to all for the help 1
