Problems with collections

I've been experiencing a weird issue with collections lately. I get some duplicates of the same collection twice. But then one collection I'll get 50 copies of with no easy way to remove them.

I am using the Autobox set plugin. I have tried removing this, deleting the collection library and then recreating it and all that happens is the collection i got 50 of is different.

Running latest server on Linux

Hi there, are you able to delete the duplicates?

I am able to but more keep appearing

To add to this there is also no obviious way to bulk delete them. I can select them all using multiselect but then the only options i get are:

I would suggest deleting the duplicates individually. We'll look into why this happened. Thanks.

Have been trying to find the cause for this. Deleted the plugin, restarted the server, deleted collections and restarted the server again. When re adding the Autobox sets plugin I get a few duplicates (2 of some film collections).

I have tried to find what causes the duplicate spam by running all the scheduled tasks but it hasn't happened yet. I seem to remember this being the case the last times this happened.

Have turned on debug logging and will send logs when it happens again.

Do you use multi-version movies?

Yes I do for some movies but not all. The collections I have had duplicates for (and duplicates spam) don't have multiple versions of the movies

What about this collection?

On the latest generation of collections, the ones I got duplicates for also don't have multi version films

If you use the metadata editor on them, what external ids are set?

After manually clearing these up, they have yet to reappear (No matter what I try). Looking through a log file where a couple of duplicates were created "Jaws" has two entries in the logs (below) where as items that don't have duplicates only have a single set of lines.

Since manually fixing all the collection items and removing duplicates I have been unable to reproduce the issue. Will probably need to test on a another install of Emby but I haven't got time to try that at the moment. Will post back when I have some updates

Thanks for the feedback.

@Luke I have this issue right now but have not cleaned it up yet.

For me it's one single box set repeated.

Before I clean things up I'd be happy to supply any info you wany.

Let me know.

Does each library scan keep creating a new one?

Good question that I don't know the answer to.

So I presently have 85 Deuce Bigalow Collection icons.  I'll kick off a couple of scans and note any difference as well as check in a couple of days for count changes (log scan as well for this collection).

Just see if the number of items in the collections list changes before and after. Thanks.

I was just looking at the metadata for the collections.

EVERY ONE that I've checked so far has the same date/time

right down to the second.  So this tells me it was likely one event that went wrong, maybe updating the DB and not something that occurred each day or with new scans.

Haven't been able to reproduce this consistently but removing the items for that Collection removes all duplicate collections, correct.
