andycruz77 0 Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 Hi, Is there a walk through document on how to config the metadata to be stored on a separate SSD drive? currently installed on the cache drive as the default, but how would i configure the metadata to point to the new SSD and what directories do I move over to the new location? what should the library settings look like on Emby, ie. do i save nfo? do i store to media folder? @cayars Thanks
Carlo 4560 Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 From inside web admin: Settings menu option "cache path" will allow you to set where the cache resides. This would be good to move to the SSD to make it work faster. You can find it's current path on the main display page of the console down at the bottom. Transcoding menu option "transcoding temporary path" is another good option to move to the SSD as well to help speed things up. Library menu, then ADVANCED menu selection at the top on the right panel. Option "Metadata path" is where Emby will store the metadata by default. How I would do this. Look up the paths for where this information is currently stored in Emby on the Display page at the bottom under the path section. Shutdown Emby and Copy the directory to the new location on the SSD Restart Emby Make the changes to the sections mentioned above to point to the new location on the SSD Restart Emby PS if you use Live TV/DVR you can also adjust the recording path to use your SSD as well if you want but this one is probably more "optional".
