Locally Stored Metadata - MBMovie.json vs movie.xml vs mediadata.info

I've got MB3 set to store movie/video metadata in MB2/MB3 format.

 

However, some movies only have a movie.xml file.  Others have the movie.xml plus a mediadata.info file and a MBMovie.json file.  Are all three of these files supposed to be created?  If so, how can I force the server to create them?

 

Or is it a legacy thing... is it possible that maybe some of them leftovers from an older MediaBrowser version?

the .json and .info files are obsolete as far as mb3 is concerned.
