kevinw 8 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 (edited) I didn't know anything about the recently completed update to the emby systems as I rarely visit the forums so it took me a few minutes of Googling to find out what was wrong with our system this morning. Once I'd signed out of my Premier account on our devices and connected to the local server I was able to access the content but it posed a question in my mind - is there any advantage to me signing in with Premier on devices on our home LAN? If I don't I assume I'm immune from any internet-related issues. If I do...? Just to be clear, I'm not querying whether I should be a Premier member, that's a given as far as I'm concerned, I'm just wondering whether it's worth using that account at home. Thanks. As an aside: Assuming the emby Facebook page is official, I'd find it quite useful if it contained a status update, particularly when there is an issue or planned outage. ebr 16184 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Hi. You actually mean signing in with Connect, right? No, there is no reason to use this on your home network. It is just a convenience for connecting remotely and from devices like TVs. 1
kevinw 8 Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 I do and I'm an idiot for mixing that up! Thanks ebr. Kevin 1
