@@Luke,

thanks, I have now managed to register the Key and Install the Backup Plugin.

However, I am now struggling with the restore and the WIki talks a lot about Backup but cant find much on Restore.   I assumed that I need to go to the path of my last backups and selecting the latest, then hitting enter.  But that does absolutely nothing....  THere are plenty data in those backup folders, so I dont think it is corrupted.

Any advise would be much appreciated

This is the network drive holding the library backups and the metadata. Its all there...

UPDATE:

I was now able to restore one of my backup images.  But I see still see no content.  Do I need to point to the library directories separately?  I thought those would get restored

How to Restore from a Backup
  • Goto Plugins
  • Click on the Backup plugin
  • This is the configuration screen that will also show you current backups
  • Scroll down to "Current Backup"
  • Click on the Backup that you wish to restore.
  • You will get a screen that gives you options of things that can be restored.
  • You can optionally do restores of only certain parts of the system or for only specific users.  Configure as needed.
  • Click the "Restore Now" button.
  • You're done !

To answer your question you want to make sure to restore "Library Definition".

Then just run a full library scan afterward.

ok, thanks, I managed emby to load the backup and rescan (couple of hours...).  It has found all the libraries, movies etc. and it also indicated which one was watched and which not.  That part looks all correct.

HOWEVER; I still don't have the actors and genres listed in the library despite pointing to the correct drive on the NAS with the directory that holds "metadata".

How do I get that part fixed?  Many thanks again.

Could just be it's going to take time to rebuild this information back.  Have you tried to refesh missing metedata?

Well still no metadata there. Despite a reboot of the server and yet another resan.

How do I "refresh" the metadata"?

Many thanks

Right click the 3 dot menu on the library and select Refresh Metadata.

You'll have 2 options you can try.

Hi, what does "no avail" mean? What exactly happened?
