Issue with music artist

Hey all,

 

I have an issue with one artist in Emby.

 

Here is the file system folder structure for The Butterfly Effect (Phoenix is a single not associated with any album).

 

Within Emby under Artists, The Butterfly Effect appears but with only one album associated which contains all the songs. The Album that shows is Begins Here but has the folder art for Phoenix.  The MP3 tags for all songs are fine.

 

It also looks odd in the Metadata Manager.

 

Where every other artist shows with their albums underneath, this artist doesn't show at all, only the one album with all songs in a weird order.

 

I moved the entire artist folder from the file system, updated the Music Library, re-added the folder and updated again but it made no difference.

 

I added the MusicBrainz metadata for each song but it also made no difference.

 

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Hi ,the presence of the song directly under the artist folder causes the artist folder to be treated as an album. Try moving that song into another sub-folder.

 

We plan to remove this restriction in future updates so that albums are fully tag driven. Thanks.

Thanks. I did as advised, placed that song in a folder of its own name, reindexed and all is good!
