Games Theme music doesn't play

The themes for my movies and tv shows are working fine, but the themes for my games are not, no matter what game i select emby always play one especific theme song from another game, if i click on the little song note icon on top right corner where it shows what is playing, i get a playlist of all theme songs for my games, so the problem here is that emby is playing a playlist for all theme songs, instead of playing the specific song for that game.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so, here is some comparison shots.

When i select a movie it plays that movie theme song normally:

And here what happens when i select a game:

It select a playlist of all my game's theme songs and start to playing them in alphabetical order no matter what game i select...

Hi there, how have you organized your game files?

Same as i have done for movies, for example a game folder contais all the data for that particular game like: game rom, poster, fanart, logo, theme... And the game folder is inside of the plataform folder, like this: "D:\Consoles\Sony PSX\Driver\Driver.iso"

Sorry, games are a minority feature for us and I don't think we've even tested theme songs in combination with games so we may have some work left to do there.

Thanks.

I have not been able to reproduce this but I will try it again. Thanks.

I've tried it many times and on a different PC too, i really like Emby for Movies, Músic and TV, but when it comes to games well, it could be better, thats the only thing keeping me on Kodi, i want to make the move to Emby Theater and use external launchers but, theme songs are a BIG deal for me, so if this could be fixed it would be awesome, and i doesn't seem to be something difficult so, please give a little love to gamers who use Emby. s2

@Luke

I don't have games setup on any of my Emby Servers. Do you know anyone else that can test this or you want me to setup and test it?

You could just dummy up some 0 byte files using the correct file names and extensions. For example Nintendo would be .nes files. Then organize them just like you would a movie library.

I just tried to PM you but it said: cayars cannot receive messages. I could not send a PM. Try PM'ing me.

I removed some older PMs to free up room.  I really need to do some house cleaning in there but don't want to loose them.

Try sending me a PM again.

BTW, I've long wondered exactly how games even work on Emby. I know this is a carry over from the WMC days or at least I think it is.

OK I got this setup as follows

C:\Media\Games\Nintendo NES\Asteroids
Asteroids.nes
theme.mp3
C:\Media\Games\Nintendo NES\Pac Man
Pac Man.nes
theme.mp3

I created a Game library and pointed it to C:\Media\Games

I added the GameBrowser plugin and configured it for Nintendo NES pointed to C:\Media\Games\Nintendo NES
It scanned in the two games

I used actual theme music for each of those games.
From web interface or Theater for Windows either game only plays pac man theme.

So going into Android game plays pac man theme.  I doubled checked the theme in asteroids folder and it is correct.
So not working correctly.

Exactly, you nailed it, this is exactly the way i organize my games, and the same bug happens with you, that is just one theme.mp3 is played no matter what plataform, no matter what game, it's always the same theme,  seems to be either a server or gamebrowser plugin problem, as this bug appears on android tv, android app, web interface and emby theater.

If you need anything to help solve this, im here.

Hi, it's on my backlog. This is unfortunately kind of a tricky one, that's why I don't have a quick fix. Thanks.

I'm very happy to announce here that, this bug has been completely fixed, thanks to @Luke on the commit "d052c4c281378de469e1cb0eb455860c81c8ea57", I can finally use emby for everything in my library again, no longer need a second app to manage games library.
THANK YOU GUYS!
