Out of curiosity, are any directories kept after a server update?

 

like the emby data folder, is that removed and replaced on update?  I'd like to set a default packages directory, and was thinking emby_data_directory\scripterx\packages ?

 

Would this directory ever be removed on an update?

I notice that Emby.Kodi.SyncQueue relies on a file ("Emby.Kodi.SyncQueue.I.1.40.json") in the data directory;

 

which is basically DbRepo.dbPath = applicationPaths.DataPath; \SyncData

 

Does this mean that the Data folder is persistent through a server update?

You could use the plugin/configuration folder. It stays untouched during updates.

 

I'm pretty sure that most of the other folders and files get replaced on update.

on an Update - the "system" folder is renamed to system.old and a new folder system is created

 

programdata folder is not touched during the update process
