On Screen Display Newbie Question

After getting more and more annoyed with Plex I'm giving Emby a try and loving it so far. The only thing I can't get used to is no OSD when fast forward/rewinding I use a mini remote keyboard and I've started pressing the up key to bring up the OSD then left/right to select forward or back then enter to skip so that I have the OSD up but my question is, is there a setting/option somewhere I've missed that enables a little playback position bar or similar that other apps like plex/netflix/kodi all seem to have when you just press left/right during playback?

 

Reading through the forums I was getting a little confused was this something that used to exist and has been removed?
