Some ideas of the top of my head would be quirks caused by locking items, or maybe you have a pre-existing album nfo file and the artist isn't listed in there.

Issue from May still persists so is still the same. As result of May posting I cleaned out all nfo files and other extraneous files from artist/album folders then let the library rebuild. I cleaned all mp3 tags because I was having a different issue with duplicate artist and found that that problem was being caused by Musicbrainz/AudioDB artist ID tag numbers. I removed all such tags from my files. My files only have artist name, song title, album name, album artist (set to same as artist name), track no, year, and genre in tags. I then turned off all metadata scrapers for music so that they don't add information that I dont want in my tags (like musicbrainz ids, etc.). Any added music  files are treated the same.  But in all of the changes since the May timeframe, Emby still has not recognized the Joe Sample folder or any files contained in subfolders (album name folders with track file names listed as previously indicated). Joe Leslie has no problem. Joe Sample is a no show.

No doubt, a library rebuild will fix it. But it might not and have grown weary of constantly trying to "fix" things. I just want to enjoy my content for a while.

As Happy is doing...put it on the "must look into" list and let me know if you ever find a solution.

If I suffer some catastrophic failure and am forced to rebuild, I'll let you if the problem was remedied.

Thx again
