When setting up server I get toggles to select the meta data. For movies I select TheMovieDB, and for TV shows I select TheTVDB for the first option then TheMovieDB.
When I get to the home screen the movies are fine but the TV shows have no meta data automatically. And I have to identify each show. Is there a way to fix this ?

When selecting a show or movie There is no music playing in the background?

1. Has the first scan of your libraries completed?  The first one can take quite a while depending on your library.

2. I think there is a way to do this through a plugin, but it may be a premium feature.  I don't have it enabled.

3. You can incorporate trailers, but I don't think they will automatically start playing the way that Netflix does.  Personally, I find that annoying.  I prefer to read my preview.

Maybe someone else can give some more details if they use those features.

Yes the scan is finished and new shows are still needing to be identified?

And for no music playing in the background I remember a toggle for it but didn't work. And I cant find it now.

Do your TV shows follow the Emby file structure and naming convention?

I'm pretty sure that the theme music is now a premium plugin.  I'm not logged in to my server right now, so I can't say.  I think the problem may be one of copyright for those files, so serving them to Emby can be sticky.

Then provide an example for one show not being identified, show the file structure starting at the level the library was added at. For example, I have:

TV/Battlestar Galactica (2003)/Season 1/Battlestar Galactica - S01E12.mkv

I've got it to work some, Is it required to have the release date in the title?

It's not required but it helps because there is more than one show called Battlestar Galactica

Exactly, many shows like it have several with the same name. Since in the future another show could come out with the same name of *any* show, I always put the year just in case.

I always made sure my names matched what is in the online databases. Different media centers have different ways they get the data, but having correct name and year is kind of foolproof. None of my shows are wrong.

There are actually 4 different plugins.

-Movie Theme Videos

-Movie Theme Songs

-TV Theme Videos

-TV Theme Sons

I have no idea how these work.  They each have a cost, but you can purchase them all together for a discount:
