Emby can't handle 4K HDR HEVC, MPC-HC can.

I run Emby on my PC and mainly use my Samsung MU7000 TV with the Emby app for Tizen.

 

Whenever I will play a 2160p HDR video it will buffer constantly on Emby, but MPC-HC will play whatever video I will throw at it flawlessly.

 

My specs: i5-2500k, Radeon R9 270, 8GB RAM. It's an older PC. I was ready to throw in the towel and just upgrade it but MPC-HC is showing me that my PC actually can handle these videos so I would really like to get Emby to as well.

 

Hoping for some advice on how to play these files with Emby.

Can you post your server and ffmpeg log.  I can only assume Emby is transcoding the media to your TV and the software encoding can not keep up, where MPC-HC is direct playing the media.

Thanks I will put up the log when I get home. Emby is showing me that it's using the auto direct method for playing though.
