Good morning and happy Sunday.

I've been using emby for some time, and only today have I taken the step of switching to premium.

I wanted to ask 2 things if it's possible.

1. How do I configure the streaming of my content from home, I don't know where to get my hands.

2. How backups are made to save data.

I have always used emby only at home via wifi and chromecast, but now I would also like to use it outside the home like netflix.

My server and my home pc, I also use emby via android.

Install the backup plugin and configure it to a location to save data.  Pretty much it for backup.  The restore mechanism is more complex because you have a ton of options as to what to restore (ie only a specific user).

Now just so you know, without an SSL cert the communication won't be encrypted which may or may not be important to you.  Most people don't seem to worry much about it but if you want secured encryption you will likely want to register a domain name to get a cert for it.

Credo di esserci riuscito, ti allego foto per farti vedere i settaggi se sono giusti oppure devo modificare.

Ho fatto la prova tramite cell. disattivando il wifi e sono riuscito ad entrare.

Volevo chiederti un ultima cosa. Posso creare e gestire utenti diversi con credenziali di accesso diverse dalle mie, per usufruire dei miei media?

Nella configurazione che ti ho mandato alla voce: Seleziona un host locale per: Lascio indirizzo Ip oppure e meglio indirizzo Mac. Mentre per Porta esterna (o insieme di porte): lascio TCP/UDP oppure solo TCP

You only need TCP and not UDP but it won't hurt anything.

 

Glad you got port forwarding working and tested on your cell phone.

 

Yes you can create new users with their own passwords and security levels.  You can grant access to only certain libraries and ratings.

Ovviamente grazie a te e a tutto lo staff per la cortese disponibilità.

Solo che non ho capito una cosa.

Per far accedere tipo mio fratello e mia moglie da due posti diversi e non nella stessa abitazione, basta che io creo 2 account su utenti, oppure devono registrarsi con la propria email su emby connect.

Setup an account for you wife and your brother.  So you would have 3 accounts setup on Emby Server in total with ONLY use being the admin.

 

Emby Connect is OPTIONAL.  Without Emby Connect the users outside your house have to know your server IP address or you have to have it setup with a domain or sub domain to use by name.  Then the user connects to your server and they login with their username/password as setup on your server.

 

OPTIONALLY your brother and your wife can both create an Emby Connect username.  This can be any name they want and does not need to match the name you setup on your server.  You then LINK the Emby Connect username to their account.  You will see a field specifically for their Emby Connect username in the setup of each user.  That is what this is for.

 

Now once each user has an Emby Connect username AND you have linked it to their local account on your server they can login from anywhere using the Emby Connect login.  This means they do not need to know your server name or IP address.

Once you have optionally setup each user with Emby Connect they can login to your server either way (local username/password or Emby Connect user/password).
