Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 This is how it's showing up in Emby: This is how it looks on TVDB: It's all labeled the same: Any ideas what's causing it?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 All I can think is faulty metadata as I just added S00E66 and S00E67 to a test library and metadata was pulled from TVDB.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 The Emby image above show unidentified episodes also as Emby is displaying the file name not a true title.
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 It worked for you? Weird, I removed the show completely and reimported and still got the same result.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 It worked for you? Weird, I removed the show completely and reimported and still got the same result. Did you delete the existing nfo files?
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 16, 2020 Author Posted May 16, 2020 I deleted all of the "specials" nfos, the season nfos, and the tv show nfos. I left the seasons 1 to 4 episodes nfos since they seemed unrelated. How do I check what's inside the actual nfo? If you mean when I click "Edit Metadata" in Emby, then yes. It lists the episode number.
Luke 42080 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Have you checked what metadata tvdb has in your chosen primary metadata language?
Luke 42080 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 What metadata fetchers are enabled on your tv library, and in what order?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Not sure unless there is a regional api cache issue. Can you show the contents of those nfo files. here is mine, with your naming scheme. Monty Python's Flying Circus S00E66 - H264.nfo <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <episodedetails> <plot /> <outline /> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2020-05-15 14:15:45</dateadded> <title>Graham Chapman's Personal Best</title> <tvdbid>7743057</tvdbid> <art /> <episode>66</episode> <season>0</season> <displayseason>0</displayseason> <fileinfo> <streamdetails /> </fileinfo> </episodedetails> Monty Python's Flying Circus S00E67 - H264.nfo <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <episodedetails> <plot /> <outline /> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2020-05-15 14:18:42</dateadded> <title>Graham Chapman's Personal Second-Best</title> <tvdbid>7743058</tvdbid> <art /> <episode>67</episode> <season>0</season> <displayseason>0</displayseason> <fileinfo> <streamdetails /> </fileinfo> </episodedetails>
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 How do I get this information? Open the nfo file in any text editor. You can copy and paste the info above as a last resort, as that would not identify what every issue you are having though.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 This is what mine shows when opened: Only real difference is there is no providerid to show online info, <tvdbid>. You shouldn't have to but you can add the externalid via edit metadata and refresh the item. You can see their ids in my post If you looked you your Cache\tvdb in 75853 folder does the xml for episode-0-66 and episode-0-67 appear? You can see you cache path via the dashboard paths section.
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 Is changing it in the nfo different than changing it under "Edit Metadata" inside of Emby? Also, I think I've tried accessing the cache folders in the past, but it's tricker to do because I'm using a Synology with my Mac. I can't just click the link to open it.

Either way should work, editing the nfo just requires a library scan and then a item refresh, where updating in the UI you just enter the id hit save, then refresh the item. Yes getting to those locations are a little more difficult on those devices.
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 yea, manually adding the tvdb id seems to work. Odd that it won't auto scan those files
